Virtual 3D Video of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort
Found this today over on the CBS Miami website.
They posted a nice article with a Sneak Peek at the new Margaritaville Resort.
Developers of the new Margaritaville Hollywood Resort have released some new renderings of the Jimmy Buffett themed-beachfront oasis. The 17 story, $130 million dollar resort will have 349 rooms, 7 restaurants, a few bars, spa and retail shopping. A large pool area out near the broadwalk with a water slide and a surfing simulator called the “Flo Rider” which will be open to the public.
They are expecting to break ground in June and begin construction in July this year (2012). Grand opening is estimate in August of 2014 and there are even some preliminary rumors of Jimmy Buffet attending the ceremonies but no confirmation on this just yet.
The whole beach area is getting energized with renovations in anticipation of the new resort (along with some other new projects). The Beach Community Redevelopment Agency has an improvement program to assist businesses with renovations and many local vendors are taking advantage to spruce up their establishments in anticipation of the transformation to come.

This project on Pierce Street was ill conceived first time around
Where are the loading zones?
Where is the traffic going to go?
As a long time beach resident I fear I will be locked in a traffic jam 24/7
The building design comes short of what modern architecture is all about! Is the City of Hollywood trapped in a time capsule, dated 1970?
Although excited about this project, I expected to see something much more exciting, like Ocean Palms, Trump and Diplomat, on a smaller scale, lower, yet CONTEMPORARY- 2012 and …
It saddens me that Hollywood Beach has so much to offer, but it choses to offer sad, boring NEW buildings- seemingly favoring the least inspiring architecture of the 70′s (ugly, oppressive, square!) Please remember that architecture is the most powerful form of art, one mistake and we have to live with it several generations to come. Don’t allow un-inspiring projects, let us all join forces together and make Hollywood Skyline more attractive than Sunny Isles and South Beach.
